This means that the machine can repeatedly position the center of the solder nozzle at a given location for precision soldering results and consistent quality, even when soldering tiny components.
This overall repeatable accuracy is the result of 0.0001" resolution linear encoder components. This new feature will be shown at IPC-Midwest.
According to Al Cable, President of ACE, "Our newest high-accuracy feature enables us to overcome the inherent inaccuracies of stepper or servo-based drive systems that rely on motor position feed back, rather than true position feed back from encoder read heads placed at the "end-point" of the motion system.
With this new feature, our selective soldering systems know the true location of the solder nozzle at all times, regardless of motor positions. This allows us to perform very accurate, repeatable soldering in the most demanding applications."
