MSD handling specialist and manufacturer of ultra low humidity drying and storage cabinets Totech Super DryR (www.superdry.info) has announced the appointment of JT Technologies to represent their growing product line in NY state and eastern Pennsylvania.
Super Dry is managed in the Americas by Protean Marketing and began nearly a decade ago as a distribution and technical support channel for Totech, the Japanese brand that invented ultra-low humidity cabinets in 1974 with patented Zeolite technology. Rapid growth was fuelled by European RoHS legislation that magnified the need to carefully control product failures caused by moisture sensitive devices (MSDs). Since then, Super Dry® by Totech has become an independent design and manufacturing organization serving global markets with leading edge MSD solutions.
JT Technologies is a veteran manufacturer's representative and soldering materials distribution firm that specializes in equipment and materials used in the assembly of printed circuit boards, with an emphasis on SMT equipment and processes. John and Tom Kintner have over 50 years combined experience working in the electronics industry of New York and Pennsylvania. .
“We are extremely pleased to have found a channel partner with the depth of technical experience and familiarity in their market,” explained Protean Director Richard Heimsch. “MSD management practices in the Americas are still wildly inconsistent and often lack understanding of the scope of both the problems and the available proven solutions. JT is ideally suited to fill those voids and answer those challenges.”
Following RoHS deadlines, European electronics manufacturers rapidly recognized the need to establish comprehensive material management programs including storage and drying of components. In partnership with the top electronics companies in Europe, Totech Super DryR developed technology designed to exceed the formidable challenges associated with IPC J-STS-033B.1 for handling of Moisture Sensitive Devices. Entirely new systems were subsequently developed by Totech EU, who is now a full scale design and manufacturing organization with engineering and manufacturing facilities in Germany and The Netherlands.
“We have not only developed solutions for a new electronics process problem, but they are also unmatched in environmental friendliness.” added Jos Brehler, Totech Managing director. “These systems consume less than 1% of the energy of traditional baking methods while at the same time reducing overall floor space and logistics.” Learn more at www.superdry.info.
