Electrolube at National Electronics Week Stand G50

The electro-chemicals manufacturer, Electrolube, will showcase new VOC free products at National Electronics Week, Stand G50, including the NVOC conformal coating and NVMC Machine Cleaner which have been designed to eradicate the use of solvents.

electrotubeAlso on show will be a new ammonia free synthetic peelable coating mask, PCS, and a fast drying silicone-based conformal coating, FSC, used to protect PCBs from harsh environment conditions.

Designed to eliminate the use of volatile organic solvents (VOCs), the NVOC conformal coating is based on polyurethane technology for the protection of electronic circuitry.

It is suitable for use in selective spray equipment and contains a UV trace for ease of inspection. NVOC reacts with atmospheric moisture to produce a tough, flexible coating.

It has similar processing parameters and drying times to solvent based coatings which enables an easier change to VOC free PCB protection without changing processing parameters. NVMC, Electrolube’s Non VOC Machine Cleaner, was designed alongside NVOC to eliminate the use of solvents when flushing through equipment, preventing any coating deposits left in the machine from curing.

PCS is a flexible, synthetic acrylic latex with good solvent resistance, making it ideal for masking components, connectors and other items during a conformal coating process. The masking compound is environmentally friendly and non-corrosive to most substrates. On application the mask is orange and changes to a darker colour once cured. It can be peeled very easily by hand after the cure process without breaking or leaving residues.

FSC is extremely effective at protecting PCBs exposed to high humidity environments. Available in 400ml aerosol and a 5 litre bulk container, FSC offers excellent adhesion to a wide variety of substrates and fluoresces under UV light for ease of inspection.

With a wide operating temperature, ranging from -50˚C to +125˚C, FSC is touch dry at 20˚C in 10 to 15 minutes and also contains no isocyan¬ates so it can be soldered through without fear of highly toxic gases being produced.

Electrolube’s product portfolio includes contact lubricants, cleaning solutions, conformal coatings, thermal management materials, resins and service and maintenance aids. For further information, please visit http://www.electrolube.com.
