Lightspeed Manufacturing has moved from its old factory in Methuen, Mass. to a new 60,000-square-foot modern light manufacturing facility at 135 Ward Hill Avenue in Haverhill, Mass., it was announced today. Lightspeed is a leading contract manufacturer of printed circuit electronics assemblies. Lightspeed moves into an industrial park long associated with cutting-edge high-tech electronics manufacturing companies.
The move was prompted by Lightspeed’s continued growth and the need for more manufacturing space, according to Lightspeed’s President, Rich Breault. Lightspeed signed a long-term lease for a significant portion of the building, which it shares with another company.
In making the announcement, Breault said that “This move represents a significant milestone in our growth. This modern facility has everything we need, including a great location with proximity to the airports in Boston and Manchester, and we’re only steps away from Interstate 495. We’re planning to double our work force in the near future.”
Lightspeed is a flexible, full-service provider of a full range of contract electronics manufacturing services, including Prototyping, PCB Assembly, Conformal Coating, Box Build, Supply Chain Management, and Complete Order Fulfillment. Lightspeed makes parts for everything from collision avoidance systems for luxury automobiles to technology for defusing and detonating roadside bombs to entertainment systems for commercial jets, Breault says, and has several contracts with military contractors.
Lightspeed already has three installed lines of electronic circuit assembly equipment, and specialized cells for BGA services and other specialized manufacturing processes. "Everything is going to be fully automated," Breault says of plans for Lightspeed’s new Ward Hill industrial park headquarters. "We're going to have the most advanced assembly lines around."
