Free of halides and bromides normally used in flux formulations, 295 is considered a Kester innovation which further helps assemblers tackle environmental issues.
Designed specifically for cored solder wire, Kester 295 provides electronics manufacturers with fast, superior wetting performance for their rework soldering process.
Kester 295 has been extensively tested to conform to IPC-TM-650, IEC61189-2, J-STD-004A and JPCA-ES-01, with no chlorine and bromine detected.
Designed with a unique blend of rosin and proprietary activator system, Kester 295 eliminates the issues of splattering, generally associated with core fluxes and promises an extremely clear post-soldering residue.
This clear residue not only results in excellent aesthetics, but it also removes the need for expensive cleaning from your process. This is because its residues are non-conductive and non-corrosive and do not require removal.
Kester 295 is available in a wide variety of alloys, wire diameters and flux percentages and, classified as type ROLO flux under the J-STD-004A specification, can be used for both lead bearing and lead-free soldering. It also emits very low smoke and odor to help electronics manufacturers to maintain a more environment-friendly workplace. Process considerations recommend a solder iron tip temperature ranging between 260-370°C (500-700°F) for Sn63Pb37 and 350-400°C (662-752°F) for lead-free SnAgCu alloys.
Kester 295 offers many advantages and Kester's team of technical engineers will be present to answer any questions regarding the performance and characteristics of this new product. Be sure to stop by booth 1D30 for more information.
