On September 11, the Executive Market & Technology Forum Conference, hosted in partnership with the European Institute for Printed Circuits (EIPC), will bring participants up to date on key industry trends and new developments in markets and technology.
Philipp Ehmer, an economist with Deutsche Bank AG, will lead off the day’s program with an economic forecast and industry outlook for Germany and worldwide. Delegates will also receive new data on demand trends for PCBs and assemblies, find out about the newest ground-breaking work in photovoltaics and discover new opportunities in the industrial electronics market.
Sharon Starr, IPC director of market research adds, “Delegates will also learn how major OEMs’ technology roadmaps are driving environmental trends through the supply chain and hear the results of a new study commissioned by IPC on environmental megatrends.”
Prior to the Executive Forum conference, IPC will hold a European EMS Management Council Meeting on September 10. Whereas the Executive Forum addresses the technological and market developments impacting the industry, the management meeting focuses on business strategy and management issues. Topics to be addressed include the best practices of lead-free processes, the five most important elements in an EMS contract and battling counterfeit components.
According to Susan Filz, IPC industry programs director, the EMS Management Council Meeting “… addresses the specific concerns of decision makers in the industry and offers real answers on how to manage their businesses more effectively. More than just a line-up of speakers, it is also an opportunity for senior managers to network and learn from each others’ experiences.”
As part of the two-day IPC event, the IPC Government Relations Committee will hold a special open forum to discuss industry regulatory concerns. IPC staff and members will discuss the outcome of IPC’s recent RoHS review process meeting in Brussels and solicit delegates’ input on other areas of concern. Details on this special forum will be released soon.
Delegates may choose to attend the IPC Executive Market & Technology Forum Conference and/or the EMS Management Council Meeting. For more information on the two-day event, visit http://www.ipc.org/2008Berlin.
